AIX crash progress codes
Crash codes produce a Type 102 message. A type 102 message generates when a software or hardware error occurs during system execution of an application.
- For category 1 crash codes, dump analysis is the appropriate first action in Problem Determination. Begin the Problem Determination process with software support.
- For category 2 crash codes, dump analysis most likely will not aid in Problem Determination. Begin the Problem Determination process with hardware support.
- For category 3 crash codes, both software and hardware support may be needed in Problem Determination. Go to 888 sequence in operator panel display to assist in problem isolation.
