FSPSP55

An error has been detected on a bus between two FRUs. The endpoint FRUs have been called out. However, the source of the error could be the bus path between the FRUs.

About this task

Note: Storage complex repair actions must always be managed from the management console. To replace any FRUs identified in this procedure, use Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Exchange Parts. If the FRUs are listed in the serviceable events, select them from there.

Procedure

  1. Is word 6 (the eight leftmost characters of panel function 13) of the reference code 00000001 or 00000008?
    • No, go to the next step.
    • Yes, perform the following steps:
    1. The XYZ bus or the CEC enclosure system processor card, P5IOC2 bus, has an error. Replace the FRUs called out after this procedure.
    2. Did replacing the FRUs correct the problem?
      • Yes. This ends the procedure.
      • No. Perform the following steps:
      1. Replace the CEC enclosure system processor backplane assembly (Un-P2) from the CEC enclosure where the FRUs were replaced.
      2. Perform a slow boot. See MAP4820 Performing a slow boot of a CEC enclosure. This ends the procedure.
  2. Is word 6 of reference code 00000002?
    • No, go to the next step.
    • Yes, perform the following steps:
    1. The AB bus has an error. Replace the SMP cable (Un-P2-Cx-Tx is the connector) between the FRUs called out after this procedure.
    2. Clear the deconfiguration errors for the FRUs called out.
    3. Perform a slow boot. See MAP4820 Performing a slow boot of a CEC enclosure.
    4. Did replacing the SMP cable correct the problem?
      • No, replace the FRUs called out after this procedure. This ends the procedure.
      • Yes. This ends the procedure.
  3. Is word 6 of reference code 00000004 or 00000005?
    • No, go to the next step.
    • Yes, perform the following steps:
    1. The CEC enclosure system processor card, GX card bus or PSI bus, has an error.
    3. Does the problem persist?
      • No. This ends the procedure.
      • Yes. Perform the following steps:
      1. Replace the CEC enclosure I/O backplane assembly (Un-P1) from the CEC enclosure where the FRUs were replaced.
      2. Perform a slow boot. See MAP4820 Performing a slow boot of a CEC enclosure. This ends the procedure.
  4. Is word 6 of reference code 00000006?
    • No, go to the next step.
    • Yes. The CEC enclosure memory DIMM ( DIMM bus) has an error. Replace the FRUs called out after this procedure.
  5. Did replacing the FRUs correct the problem?
    • No, perform the following steps:
      1. Replace the CEC enclosure system processor card (Un-P2-C1 or Un-P2-C2) from the CEC enclosure where the FRUs were replaced.
      2. Perform a slow boot. See MAP4820 Performing a slow boot of a CEC enclosure. This ends the procedure.
      3. Yes. This ends the procedure.
  6. For any other value in word 6 of the reference code, the bus error is corrected by the FRUs called out after this procedure. Replace the FRUs called out after this procedure.

    This ends the procedure.
