MAP1235 Exit a MAP and repair or close a problem

You have been directed here from a MAP to complete the repair of a serviceable event. The following sections contain the steps to follow when closing a MAP and continuing a repair using the service framework.

MAP1235 Section-1

Procedure

Note the exit procedure that referred you to this MAP. Find that exit procedure in Table 1 and take the action shown. All references to closing a MAP refer to the MAP that sent you here.

Entry conditions Action to take
Exit procedure 1: Problem fixed
The problem is fixed. Close the MAP that sent you here to close the serviceable event.
Go to MAP1235 Section-2.
Exit procedure 2: Problem isolated, exchange FRU The problem is isolated but not fixed. Close the MAP that sent you here and exchange a FRU using the Exchange Parts menus. Go to MAP1235 Section-3.
Exit procedure 3: Problem isolated, pseudo-repair
The problem is isolated but not fixed. Close the MAP that sent you here and perform a pseudo repair of a part using the Exchange Parts menus.
Go to MAP1235 Section-3.
Exit procedure 4: problem not isolated, continue FRU list
The problem is not yet isolated. Close the MAP that sent you here and continue with the serviceable event FRU list.
Go to MAP1235 Section-4.
Exit procedure 5: problem not isolated, exit this procedure
The problem is not yet isolated. Close the MAP that sent you here and exit the repair procedure. This might be to select another serviceable event or to exit the Manage Serviceable Events menus.

MAP1235 Section-2

Procedure

The problem is fixed. Close the MAP that sent you here and complete the service action.
  1. Click Close to exit the MAP.
  2. To the question "What was the result of using the service procedure?" select Problem fixed and then click Next.
  3. To the question "Did you exchange any parts?" select Yes or No as appropriate, then click Next.
  4. If prompted to enter any service action text, enter description as required.
  5. This serviceable event is now in the closed state.

Procedure

The problem is isolated, but not fixed. Close the MAP that sent you here and exchange a FRU or do a pseudo-repair using Exchange Parts.
  1. Click Close to exit the MAP.
  2. To the question, "What was the result of using the service procedure?" select Problem not fixed and then click Next.
  3. To the question, "Did you exchange any parts?" click No and then click Next.
  4. To the question, "Did you isolate the problem?" click Yes and then click Next.
  5. The current repair action ends, but the serviceable event is left open. Use the Exchange Parts menu to complete a replacement or pseudo-repair of the necessary part:
    Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Exchange Parts

MAP1235 Section-4

Procedure

The problem is not isolated. Close the MAP that sent you here and continue the service action with the FRU list from the serviceable event that called that MAP.
  1. Click Close to exit the MAP.
  2. To the question, "What was the result of using the service procedure?" select Problem not fixed and then click Next.
  3. To the question, "Did you exchange any parts?" click No and then click Next.
  4. To the question, "Did you isolate the problem"? click No and then click Next.
  5. The next FRU in the list is displayed. Continue the repair by replacing the remaining FRUs until the problem is fixed. Exit this MAP by clicking Close.

MAP1235 Section-5

Procedure

The problem is not isolated. Close the MAP that sent you here and exit the repair procedure for the serviceable event that called that MAP.
  1. Click Close to exit the MAP.
  2. To the question, "What was the result of using the service procedure?" select Delay the repair and then click Next.
  3. The Serviceable Event Overview screen appears. Click Cancel.
  4. The Manage Serviceable Events screen is displayed. Select the desired serviceable event or click Cancel, as needed.
