MAP31C0 Section-1

Procedure

  1. Use the following information to repair this serviceable event.
    • The DDM to be replaced is still active in an array.
    • The array is currently being rebuilt because of a prior service action.
  2. Wait until the array build process is complete before repairing this DDM.
    • An array rebuild can take from 90 minutes to several hours depending on the capacity of the DDMs and the level of system activity.
    • Retry the DDM replacement later.
  3. To check the array state, have the customer check the rank datastate using the IBM® System Storage DS® Command-Line Interface (CLI).
    1. Using the dscli, issue the lsrank command. For example, dscli> lsrank.
    2. Look at the 'datastate' column. For help, issue "help lsrank" to see information on the lsrank command, including the list of possible datastates and their meaning.
    3. The rebuild process is complete when the datastate indicates 'Normal'
