MAP4E10 RIO cable parts exchange without a serviceable event

Use this procedure to exchange a RIO cable when the cable is not listed in a serviceable event FRU list.

Procedure

  1. Is the RIO cable that you are replacing listed in a serviceable event FRU list?
    • Yes, exit this MAP and use the normal procedures for serviceable event FRU replacement.
    • No, go to the next step.
  2. Are there any open serviceable events that contain a CEC enclosure RIO card?
    • Yes, replace the RIO card first, and if it still fails, replace the RIO cable.
    • No, go to step 3.
  3. All of the following must be followed to successfully replace the RIO cable:
    • The RIO cable can be "hot plugged" without setting a quiesce or service mode condition.
    • After you disconnect the RIO cable, wait at least two minutes before you connect the replacement cable.
Note: The RIO Health Check runs once every minute to detect and verify the RIO loop cables and hardware.
    • To mechanically exchange the cable, see Exchange the RIO cable.
