MAP65B0 Format a DVD-RAM disc for backup/restore

Use this procedure to format a DVD-RAM disc for the management console.

Before you begin

Note: DVD-RAM disc media from IBM should come preformatted properly for use as a backup/restore disc. If the disc needs to be reformatted, or if you must use a non-IBM disc, then use the following step to format the disc.

Procedure

Format a DVD-RAM disc for use as a backup/restore disc.
  1. From the navigation area, click HMC Management.
  2. In the right work area, go to the Operations section. Click Format Media.
  3. At the Format Media screen, select Format DVD-RAM and click OK.
  4. At the Format DVD-RAM screen, select Backup/restore and click Format.
