MAP6610 Checking for an IP address conflict

This MAP provides guidance on how to verify there is not a managed system IP address conflict.

About this task

Perform these steps to check for an IP conflict:

Procedure

  1. On the management console, right click on the desktop and select terminal > rshterm.
  2. In the terminal, issue this command: lssyscfg -r sys -F type_model serial_num ipaddr

    A list of managed systems names and their IP address (or hostname) will appear. For example:

    9117-MMA 13AAB80 172.16.255.253

    9117-MMA 13AAAF0 172.16.254.255

  3. Check to see if there are duplicates.
