MAP6640 Shutting down, restarting, and logging off the management console

Perform the steps in this section to log off the management console.

Before you begin

Before restarting or shutting down the management console, ensure that the customer is not currently accessing the management console to perform logical configuration or copy service functions.

MAP6640 Section-1, Shutdown or restart the management console

Procedure

Shutdown or restart the management console.
  1. From the navigation area, click HMC Management.
  2. In the right work area, go to the Operations section and click Shut Down or Restart.
    The Shutdown or Restart window opens.
  3. Select either Shutdown HMC or Restart HMC.

MAP6640 Section-2, Log off or disconnect the management console

Procedure

Log off or disconnect from the management console.
  1. From the top task bar on the upper left, click Logoff.
    The Choose to Logoff or Disconnect window opens.
  2. Select Logoff to end the session, or Disconnect to preserve your session and continue processing the tasks.
