Exchanging parts

This section tells how to remove and replace FRUs.

The following procedures outline instructions for exchanging parts. These are not stand-alone procedures. Customer disruption might occur if microcode and power boundaries are not in the proper conditions for this service action. Ensure that you start all service activities at Starting all service or that you were guided here by the management console (HMC).

Notes:

All the cables and FRUs to be removed must be uniquely identified so they can be reinstalled correctly.
If an installed earthquake resistance kit prevents you from accessing this FRU, refer to MAP1600.
