This procedure locates the start of the failing RIO link.
About this task
The RIO node on one end of the link might be the failing
item. If you were sent to this procedure as a result of a B7006985
SRC, and this is the only FRU in the FRU list, the system cannot see
any I/O units on a RIO loop and there is at least one cable attached
to a port on that loop. In this case, go to (B700) Reference codes and work from the
full FRU list provided there.
Note: The other
end of the link is given in the symbolic FRU
TOPORT.
Procedure
- Record the bus number in the first half of word
7 of the reference code. Table 1 shows
the reference code format.
Key:
TTTT = Reference code type
(B600xxxx or B700xxxx)
UUUU = Unit reference
code
BBBB = RIO bus number
- Find the failing RIO node on the management console:
- From the navigation area, click .
- From the bottom Task area, click .
- In the Current Topology area, scroll down until you
find data for the RIO loop number you are working with.
- Each line in that RIO loop represents a RIO node. Find
the first one with a leading port status of failed.
- Record the location code of the first failed resource.
What to do next
This ends the procedure.
