Using system reference codes and firmware codes

This section describes how to use system reference codes (SRCs) and firmware codes.

System reference codes (SRCs) indicate a storage complex hardware or software problem that can originate in hardware or in Licensed Internal Code.

A storage complex component generates an error code when it detects a problem. An SRC identifies the component that detected the error code and describes the error condition.

Note: Storage complex repair actions should always begin from the management console (Service Management > Manage Serviceable Events > Repair). The SRC information provided should be used in conjunction with the Serviceable Event for additional reference information and possible isolation procedures.
