The information in the following tables must only be used for general planning of your installation or remove activities.

 Installing a storage facility

MES hardware:
  • Drives to be installed in existing flash or storage enclosures.
  • Device adapter cards to be installed in existing I/O enclosures.
  • Earthquake resistance kit feature FC 1906.
    Note: MES instructions are shipped with the hardware if it is new from IBM manufacturing1. For the latest level of instruction, consult your next level of support for this storage model.
  • Secondary management console
  • Host adapters to be installed in existing I/O enclosures.
  • Flash or storage enclosures to be installed in existing racks
