MAP7022 Private network isolation procedure 22

The Network Topology tool has been used to determine that one or both management consoles have lost connectivity to the service processor on a single CEC enclosure (one of the two processor complexes in a storage facility) through both networks (Black/eth0 and Gray/eth3).

MAP7022 Section-1

Procedure

  1. Use Service Management > Manage Serviceable Events to view the list of open serviceable events.

Do you have a serviceable event that is indicating a failure with the service processor (all models) or CEC enclosure system backplane (models 961, 98x)?

    • Yes, use that serviceable event to repair the service processor or CEC enclosure system backplane problem.
When the problem is repaired, go to MAP7001 Section-1 (Start here) and use the Network topology test tool to check if the network problem is resolved.
    • No, continue with the next step.
  2. Observe the CEC enclosure control panel for the CEC enclosure which is failing. Is there an eight-digit reference code (except Cxxxxxxx) displayed on the control panel?
  3. Are there two management consoles controlling this Storage Facility?
    • Yes, continue with the next step.
    • No, go to step 5.
  4. Have both management consoles lost connectivity with this single system (CEC enclosure)?
  5. Is the primary management console (MC1) failing to communicate with this single system (CEC enclosure)?
Note: The primary management console uses the Gray network to communicate with the service processors.
