The system power control network (SPCN) identifier might be set incorrectly.

Before you begin

Note: Storage complex repair actions must always be managed from the management console. To replace any FRUs identified in this procedure, use Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Exchange Parts. If the FRUs are listed in this or another Serviceable Event, select them from there.

Procedure

Launch an ASM session on the failing service processor card. Use Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Server View > server > Operations > Launch Advanced System Management (ASM).
Log on to ASM. Use the userid celogin. Contact your support center for the required password.
Open System Configuration and select Configure I/O Enclosures.

Check the Power Control Network Identifiers for the CEC and I/O enclosures. The CEC enclosure should be set to 0xB6 and all I/O enclosures should be set to 0x88. For an example of the display, see Table 1.

Were the power control network identifiers set correctly?
- Yes, continue with the next step.
- No, update the values using the ASM menu selections and continue with the next step.
Retry the operation that failed. If the problem persists, go to the appropriate procedure:
- For CEC enclosure, go to PWR1904.
- For I/O enclosure, go to PWR1909.
