| Generate a test PMH |
- From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management.
- From the right work area, select the check box for the appropriate
storage facility. The bottom Task area displays a list of tasks you
can select.
- From the bottom Task area, click . The Test Problem Notification
(PMH, SNMP, Email) window opens.
- Click Yes.

| Outbound calls (local modem) |
- From the navigation area, click Service
Management.
- In the right work area, go to the Connectivity
section and click Manage Outbound Connectivity.
- The Call Home Server Consoles window
opens, click Configure.
- From the Local Modem tab, select the first listed phone number
and click Test.

| Internet VPN connection |
- From the navigation area, click Service
Management.
- In the right work area, go to the Connectivity
section and click Manage Outbound Connectivity.
- The Call Home Server Consoles window
opens, click Configure.
- From the Internet VPN tab, click Test.

| E-mail notification |
- From the navigation area, click Service
Management.
- In the right work area, go to the Connectivity section and click Manage
Serviceable Event Notification.
- From the Email tab, click Test Email.

- From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management.
- From the right work area, select the check box for the appropriate

- From the bottom Task area, click . The Test Problem Notification
(PMH, SNMP, Email) window opens.
- Click Yes.

| Test network connectivity (ping command) |
- From the navigation area, click HMC Management.
- From the Operations section, click Test Network Connectivity.
- From the Ping tab, enter the TCP/IP address or name, then click Ping.
