MA_BRDG

The problem is the multi-adapter bridge hardware on a system bus.

Procedure

  1. Is the CEC or I/O enclosure FRU location code available in the serviceable event FRU list that sent you here?
    • No, continue with the next step.
    • Yes, use this location information and go to step 3.
  2. Contact your next level of support. They may need to do the following:
    1. Record the bus number, which is in word 7 of the reference code. See MAP1216 Displaying primary system reference code (SRC) extension words.
    2. To determine if the problem is in a CEC or I/O enclosure, search for the bus number in MAP4092 Card positions. If the bus number is for an I/O enclosure, other methods will need to be used to determine which I/O enclosure. It may be necessary to use MAP4E20 RIO Topology tool.
    3. Record the enclosure or unit's type/model or feature. Then continue with the next step.
  3. The failing component is the FRU containing the multi-adapter bridge. Use the following table to identify the name of the FRU that is indicated by the location in the user interface you are working with, or by using the bus number you obtained previously in this procedure.
Table 1. Replacing the failing part
Enclosure Name of FRU to exchange Symbolic FRU to search for
CEC enclosure CEC enclosure I/O backplane assembly MA_BRDG
    I/O enclosure I/O enclosure backplane MA_BRDG
    This ends the procedure.
