The failing component is the board that the memory DIMMs plug into.

Before you begin

Note: Storage complex repair actions must always be managed from the management console. To replace any FRUs identified in this procedure, use Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Exchange Parts. If the FRUs are listed in this or another Serviceable Event, select them from there.

Procedure

  1. Select the Model that applies:
    • For Models 941, 951, complete steps 2 and 3.
    • For Model 961, complete steps 4 and 5.
  2. If the location code identifies the CEC enclosure system processor card that has the problem, replace the system processor card identified by the location code.
  3. If no location code is provided, replace the processor cards. Location codes Un-P2-C1, Un-P2-C2. Refer to Exchanging parts.

    This ends the procedure for Models 941, 951.

  4. If the location code identifies the CEC enclosure memory card that has the problem, replace the memory card identified by the location code.
  5. If no location code is provided, replace the memory cards. Location codes Un-P2-C15, Un-P2-C16, Un-P2-C17, Un-P2-C18. Refer to Exchanging parts.

    This ends the procedure for Model 961.
