MAP6650 Correcting the CEC enclosure operating state
Use these procedures to put the CEC enclosure back to a correct state.
MAP6650 Section-1, Correcting the CEC enclosure operating state
Procedure
If both CEC enclosures are displaying an unexpected CEC state, do not continue. Contact your next level of support. This MAP requires the partner CEC to be
operational.
Note: The next level of support will first search
for any known problems or fixes. They may then ask you to deactivate
and power down the failing CEC enclosure and perform
a service processor pinhole
reset.
MAP6650 Section-3, Incomplete state
About this task
In the Incomplete state, the management console failed
to get all of the necessary information from the CEC enclosure. Perform
the following steps:
Ensure that the customer is not currently accessing the CEC enclosure to perform
logical configuration of copy service functions before you continue
with the next step.
Reboot the management console. Choose
from the following options:
Allow up to ten (10) minutes for the service processor to initiate
program load (IPL) and for communication to be established with the management console.
Do a pseudo FRU replace of the service processor. Do
not physically disconnect any cables or physically remove the service processor when
directed. You are using the Exchange FRU procedure to ensure all the service processor settings
are correct, the FRU verification tests run error free, and then to
return the CEC enclosure to
customer use.
From the navigation area, click Storage Facility Management > storage
facility.
From the bottom Task area, click Exchange
Parts. Select the exchange option that contains the FRU
to be exchanged. A window opens and displays the enclosures.
Click Show FRUs. A window opens and lists the CEC enclosure FRUs. Select
the Service Processor Card and then click Exchange FRU.
