A CEC enclosure FRU is preventing the power-on to a 'good' state.

Before you begin

Note: Storage complex repair actions must always be managed from the management console. To replace any FRUs identified in this procedure, use Storage Facility Management > storage facility > Exchange Parts. If the FRUs are listed in this or another Serviceable Event, select them from there.

Procedure

Power off the failing Storage Facility System. Use HMC > Service Applications > Service Focal Point > Service Utilities > Storage Facility Systems Management > Deactivate a System then Power Off a System.
Check that the tower card is connected and seated properly. See TWRCARD.
Check that the power supplies are connected and seated properly. See PWRSPLY.
Power on the failing server. Use HMC > Service Applications > Service Focal Point > Service Utilities > Storage Facility Systems Management > Power On a System.
Is there a reference code 1xxx2600 or 2601?
- Yes, exchange the following FRUs one at a time (see Location codes in serviceable events and Exchanging parts):
  - Tower card (TWRCARD)
  - Power supplies (PWRSPLY)
  - Memory cards (if installed)
  - Processor cards (if installed)
  - Backplane (SYSBKPL)
- No, activate the Storage Facility system, then continue with step 6.
If not done already, power on the DS8000® CEC enclosure, close associated problems, and return it to the customer. Perform the following steps:
1. Power on the Storage Facility. Use HMC > Service Applications > Service Focal Point > Service Utilities > Storage Facility Systems Management > Power On a System and Reactivate a System.
2. Use HMC > Service Applications > Service Focal Point > Manage Serviceable Events > Power On a System and Reactivate a System to close any associated problems. This ends the procedure.
